NOTHING MORE THAN NATURE
The form of the body is shaped by the elements of rock and water, flowing in harmony with the essence of nature. As it moves through the architectonic structure of the river, it embodies a seamless connection to the landscape, merging with its surroundings while maintaining a sense of integrity and fluidity.
The form of the body draws inspiration from the river, symbolizing the interplay between rock and water, capturing their duality of solidity and liquidity. These elements do not oppose or dominate one another; instead, they come together to form a dynamic unity, creating a new sensation of movement—a delicate balance between rigidity and fluidity.
This concept weaves a complex spatial narrative that abstracts the essence of nature, evoking a sense of velocity. It embodies not just the act of driving, but the emotion of freedom—one that is born from the feeling of flowing, where movement is not constrained, but rather an expression of liberation.
This project was designed by Engin Tuay for TOFAŞ (Türk Otomobil Fabrikası Anonim Şirketi) as part of the corporate image collaboration with FIAT in 2009. TOFAŞ manufactures FIAT models under license.
The 3D CNC model was created at the Industrial Design Department Modeling Laboratory of Istanbul Technical University.
