WORKSHOP
CHRIS BANGLE
FUTURE PERSONAL EMOTIONAL MOBILITY
The Paradigm After the Next Car
Scuola Politecnica di Design, Milan September 2009
The workshop is part of a project aimed at creating a new generation of sustainable shared transportation for the year 2050.
Building on the idea that the mass migration of people from rural areas to cities will further exacerbate social, economic, and ecological disparities between population zones, attendees collaborate closely with Chris Bangle to design systems that resonate on both emotional and economic levels. These systems aim to satisfy the personal transportation needs and desires of a diverse global population while minimizing environmental impact.
CONTEXT
Organic Essentialism
Today, the car stands as a significant phenomenon that redefines the conception of space and time through its symbolic and aesthetic characteristics. By altering spatial boundaries and elevating the sense of location to a new dimension, cars have transformed modern perceptions. The space we inhabit is no longer measured by the physical distance between two points but rather by the time it takes to travel between them.
Naturatechnic Transportation
Biomorphism and nanotechnology.
Adaptive Monography
A convergence of technology and natural processes.
Adaptive Monography
